The Truckers
Union
, led by
Hugo Moyano
, reached an agreement with the representatives of the business chambers and achieved
a salary increase of 45 percent
in two tranches, to be paid
25 percent in March
and
20 percent in April
.
"An agreement was signed, within the framework of the hearing convened at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor of the Ministry of Human Capital of the Nation, which consists of a 25 percent salary increase that will be applied to March salaries and a 20 percent on April salaries," the union reported.
"The parties were quite far apart in the negotiation" since in the previous hearing the unionist Jorge Taboada "flatly rejected" the 15 percent salary increase proposed by the business chambers.
The Truckers' Union reported that it reached the 45 percent agreement in two months, "after an interim period," since the union wanted 35 percent for each of the months, while the employers had offered a meager 15 percent for March and another similar percentage for the month of April."
The union negotiates with the Argentine Federation of Transport and Logistics Entities (FAETyL) and the Argentine Federation of Freight Motor Transport Business Entities (FADEEA).
