The blackout that blocked tens of thousands of cell phones across the United States yesterday "does not appear to have been caused by a hacker attack".
An industry source reports this to CNN.
American telephone companies have not yet provided an official explanation for the incident, while communications have returned to normal.
Mobile phone service disruptions occurred throughout the United States.
From New York to Los Angeles, tens of thousands of cell phones were blocked with only the ability to make emergency calls.
All major American telephone operators were affected except Verizon and T-Mobile who announced that their systems worked normally.
