Roland Kaiser has been delighting generations of hit fans for half a century.
Now Giovanni Zarrella is organizing an anniversary show on Saturday evening in his honor - but not as a live broadcast.
Offenburg – On February 24th, ZDF will show a special edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”.
The reason: Pop icon Roland Kaiser (71) is celebrating his 50th stage anniversary.
Numerous stars of the pop world give each other a hand here.
However, the musical anniversary party took place months ago.

, ZDF also revealed the reason.

In December 2023, hit fans were irritated that the next regular edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” would not be shown until May 2024.
But there is a good reason for the unusual broadcast schedule: Instead, a special edition of the show will be broadcast in February under the motto “50 Years of Roland Kaiser” and is already considered the hit anniversary of 2024.
Hits from five decades of music history are on the program.
Kaiser classics will be reinterpreted in live arrangements and exclusive duets.
The pop star receives active support from industry colleagues such as Beatrice Egli (35), Kerstin Ott (42), Maite Kelly (44), Semino Rossi (61) and Nino de Angelo (60).

However, the show will not be a live broadcast, as is usually the case with the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”.

ZDF revealed about the production: "This special for Roland Kaiser's 50th stage anniversary had to be pre-recorded on December 15th and 16th for planning reasons." A somewhat nebulous explanation from the Mainz broadcaster.
Was it because of the hall, the availability of the artists or the logistics?
When asked again, ZDF did not allow itself to be persuaded to make a more specific statement.

In any case, ZDF made an exception for the recorded anniversary show with Roland Kaiser: “The subsequent 'Giovanni Zarrella Show' later in the spring will be broadcast live as usual,” the broadcaster further assured.
In addition to musical contributions, viewers can also look forward to a series of films that trace the artist's life.
The political and social commitment of Roland Kaiser should also be honored.
