“Thank you very much for giving me the privilege of presenting this honorary César to a person I love deeply
,” begins Jamel Debbouze before a voice rises from the audience:
“Yeah Jamel…”.
The rest of the sentence is inaudible.
The hander pauses for a few seconds, stopped in his tracks.
He then says
“Shut up”
to his mysterious interlocutor.
“Are you a cousin of Juliette Binoche or what are you?”

Jamel Debbouze made fun at the opening of the 78th César ceremony for French auteur cinema which is struggling to make entries at the box office.
Present, Juliette Binoche opposed this thesis.

You haven’t seen the film
,” the actress exclaimed, standing up in the audience.

Despite this unexpected event this Friday evening, Jamel Debbouze continued his intervention.
The actor was able to demonstrate his
“admiration, respect, gratitude and tenderness”
for Agnès Jaoui.
The actor also wanted to highlight in his portrait
“the fight against inequalities, violence, all forms of violence
” of his mentor.
“She does this all the time and everywhere, in cinema and in life. I have always seen Agnès Jaoui stubbornly trying to defend the weakest, trying to turn the tables on condescension, contempt or ordinary racism. You know that little familiarity we give to the cleaning lady or the worker. This thing that seems nice, but is absolutely not. My parents experienced it so much
,” he added.
