20 children were born in families in Tegernsee in 2023.
The city welcomed them at the traditional newborn reception.
A good opportunity for everyone to get to know each other.
Tegernsee – The long council table in the Tegernsee town hall was almost too small when new parents recently came to the baby shower with their offspring.
Between coffee, donuts and cake, pacifiers, cuddly toys and siblings cavorted in the meeting room that afternoon.
Event with tradition
For almost 20 years, the city has been inviting all newborns from the previous year to get to know each other, as Mayor Johannes Hagn described it.
“For Tegernsee, well-connected parents are very important.
Get to know each other today and help each other out when it's needed.
20 new children were born last year and now live with their families in Tegernsee.
As a “debut gift,” every new citizen received a cuddly toy and a matching book in addition to the Tegernsee thaler made of real silver.
“And we definitely have a few playing cards in the house for the older siblings present,” Hagn added with a smile.
