There is currently a power outage in parts of Weilheim and Wielenbach.
According to Bayernwerk, around 3,000 households are affected.
Update from February 23rd, 6:19 p.m.:
The situation after the power outage is slowly but surely returning to normal.
The effects had been very different in the past few hours.
For some the power was back on after half an hour, for others nothing worked for hours.
Often, as in the Weilheim editorial office, there was a coming and going: lights came on again, computers booted up, until the next failure followed minutes later.
This was also the case at the Weilheim hospital, as Jorgina Nitzinger told receptionist.
Thanks to the emergency care, operations continued without any problems.
The power outage hit many supermarkets in Weilheim hard: At Edeka in the west of Weilheim, two employees stood in front of the open entrance door; everything inside was dark - customers had to leave without having accomplished anything.
The Facebook page “You come from Weilheim” also said that markets like Lidl and Rewe were also affected.
In the evening the first people reported that they were turning on the gas grill because they were hungry.
According to Bayernwerke, the damage should have been repaired by around 5:40 p.m., and in fact some people who had been without electricity all afternoon had it again.
Update from February 23rd, 5:47 p.m.:
The power outage had consequences in the SOS Children's Village in Weilheim.
A meal was burned in the facility on Hans-Glück-Straße around 4 p.m.
“A mishap,” says facility manager Melanie Bagola.
A young person wanted to cook something for himself when the power outage disabled the hotplates.
He then wanted to tell someone.
When the young man left the kitchen, the power came back - and a grease fire broke out, which the teenager later discovered.
“He reacted really well,” praises Bagola.
He didn't try to extinguish the fire with water, but rather put the lid on the pot.
This was recently shown to the young people in the children's village during a fire training course.
The rescue chain also worked perfectly – and, above all, quickly – emphasized Bagola and praised the emergency services.
"We really appreciate it."
Around 20 members of the Weilheim fire department were on site and ventilated the room.
The teenager was examined by emergency services at the scene because he had been exposed to smoke, but fortunately he was uninjured.
