Kaiserslautern - Karlsruher SC thoroughly spoiled its home game premiere with 1. FC Kaiserslautern for veteran coach Friedhelm Funkel.
Coach Christian Eichner's Baden team won the southwest derby of the 2nd Bundesliga away on Saturday 4-0 (0-0).
The KSC celebrated its first win in Kaiserslautern since 1992, while the FCK slipped deeper and deeper into the relegation battle.
Kaiserslautern played the game in black jerseys in memory of former FCK player Andreas Brehme, who died on Tuesday night.
There was also a minute's silence before the game.
Both teams and the referee team wore mourning ribbon.
In front of 49,327 spectators in the sold-out Fritz Walter Stadium, the game was decided within seven minutes after the break.
Marvin Wanitzek (51st), Igor Matanovic (58th) and Paul Nebel (82nd) scored the goals for the guests.
Budu Zivzivadze (90+1) made the final score in stoppage time.
