The FWG parliamentary group submitted an application to the Holzkirchen market town council to revitalize the old school building in Großhartpenning.

But this was not well received by the committee.

Holzkirchen – According to Florian Gams, the building management of the market town of Holzkirchen already discovered in 2011 that the renovation of the almost 60-year-old Großhartpenninger school building was uneconomical.

Because the building, which is only poorly maintained, has since then been used only as a storage facility, it is, according to the FWG application, like a vacancy, “the worst of all types of use and no longer acceptable”.

However, the majority of the market town council saw things differently at the most recent meeting and referred to the local development concept and project prioritization adopted in 2022.

The idea: timely citizen and public participation

Regardless of the local development concept adopted by the market town council at the request of the CSU parliamentary group, FWG spokesman Torsten Hensel has now formulated a “prioritization application” in order to subject the old school building to isolated and timely citizen and public participation.

Depending on the desired type of use, further questions, particularly financial ones, should then be clarified afterwards.

Hensel found an advocate in Simon Ammer (SPD): “The area is in the heart of Großhartpennings and its further development has been put on the back burner for 14 years.”

Sebastian Beil (CSU), on the other hand, was disconcerted by the fact that, despite the decision, something should now be pushed through "by force quickly" with regard to the budget: "We would rather do it smartly." Because the building will not be empty until then, but rather offers storage space to numerous clubs, recalled Josef Sappl senior.

(CSU): “Many other clubs would be happy about it.” Green party spokesman Robert Wiechmann described the FWG’s initiative as “incomprehensible”: “We have more major projects on our hands than ever before.

So please let us take the prioritization seriously and only tackle new ones when we have some breathing room.”

Mayor Schmid: “got a little pulse while reading”

Finally, Mayor Christoph Schmid added angrily and said: “I got a bit of a pulse while reading it.

Apparently this is an attempt to put oneself in the right light in a district.” He understands if it seems that some things are happening too slowly.

However, he wants to prevent an overclocking of the administration and the resulting negative effects: “I formally reject the fact that something is left behind or put on the back burner because of this.”

With 16 votes to 7, the market town council ultimately rejected the FWG application for isolated and early citizen and public participation to revitalize the Hartpenninger schoolhouse.
