The man, aged 49, died in Fouquereuil, Pas-de-Calais.
The mayor of the town was informed by the firefighters on Friday evening.
The exact causes of death are currently unknown, but his relatives believe that he could not bear the murder of his 12-year-old daughter.

The funeral of Johan Daviet will be celebrated on Thursday at the Vendin-lès-Béthune crematorium.
