Within a few months, Guido Maria Kretschmer lost both his father and his mother.
Now the star designer is talking about this difficult time for the first time.
Hamburg – In a good mood and happy: That’s how we know Guido Maria Kretschmer (58).
But last year the fashion designer had to cope with two tragic strokes of fate.
His father Erich died in August 2023 at the age of 87.
A few months later, the “Shopping Queen” star also had to say goodbye to his mother Marianne.

The death of his beloved parents left him devastated.
In the NDR talk show “deep and clear,” Kretschmer takes an emotional look back.
“When my mother died, everything was gone.
“I was almost unable to drive back to Hamburg by car,” he reveals.
“I was more lost than ever in my entire life.
It was terrible."
The relationship with his parents was very close and “extremely harmonious”.
“I always say: I could have married both of them.
I could have spent my whole life with both of them.
And that’s a big gift,” reports the TV darling.
His parents always supported him even in his homosexuality.
Guido Maria Kretschmer felt “completely alone” after his parents died
The unexpected loss was all the worse.
After his father's death, Guido Maria Kretschmer asked himself: “Now I'm somehow like a half-orphan.
How am I going to do it?” At work, “tears sometimes came out of nowhere.”
“Because I loved him so much and we were so similar, I had a hole that couldn't be filled.
I wasn’t able to deal with it,” adds the fashion designer.

While his father was dying, his mother developed dementia.
“It was really crazy, you lost both of them at once,” says Kretschmer.
Nevertheless, he appreciated the beautiful moments with his mother.
The fact that he had to say goodbye to her so quickly was a severe shock.
“I was completely alone,” he remembers, remembering the dark times.
