The 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season is about to begin and it could well be the biggest yet.
The popularity of the league has increased in the United States in recent years and the addition of figures such as Lionel Messi has attracted many thousands more fans to the stadiums.
This year, each team is scheduled to play a total of 34 regular season games, 17 at home and 17 on the road.
The Eastern Conference, made up of 15 teams, will face each of its opponents within the same conference twice, for a total of 28 games.
They will also play a game against six different opponents from the other conference, making a total of 34 games.
For its part, the Western Conference, made up of 14 teams, will also play two games against each opponent, which represents a total of 26 games.
Additionally, they will face one or two additional opponents within the conference and compete against six or seven opponents from the other conference, completing their 34-game schedule.
Here are all the important dates of the season, including the schedules of three of the most popular teams in the league.
February 24-25: MLS is Back weekend
Following the opening match of the season between Messi's Inter Miami and Real Salt Lake, which was played last Wednesday, the league will continue with 14 matches scheduled for the weekend.
Among them the highly anticipated face-to-face between the LA Galaxy, five-time MLS Cup champion, and Inter Miami, current League Cup champion.
From May 11 to 18: week of rivalries
During Rivalry Week, teams with historical or geographic rivalries face off in highly anticipated matches.
For example, Toronto FC and CF Montreal, both teams from Canada, will play a match that will undoubtedly be watched by a large number of Canadian fans.

July 4: Traffic at the Rose Bowl
One of the biggest rivalries in the league is the one between the two Los Angeles teams: LA Galaxy and LAFC, who face each other in El Tráfico, their classic annual match, which last year established an all-time MLS attendance record. during Independence Day with 82,110 fans.

July 24: MLS All-Star game
The Columbus Crew will host its first MLS All-Star Game since 2005. Fans can register now for priority access to tickets.
The game will be played at Lower.com Field on Wednesday, July 24.
According to the MLS website, the week will feature “world-class soccer events, music, interactive fan experiences and community-focused events in Ohio's capital.”
The rival will be announced later.
July 26-August 25: Leagues Cup
The championship in which all MLS and LIGA MX teams participate will return this year with a one-month pause in the MLS season.
The tournament will begin on Friday, July 26 and will conclude on Sunday, August 25.
October 19: decisive day
October 19 will be the last day of the regular season, with 14 games.
December 7: MLS Cup 2024
The final game of the postseason, which will end with a champion, will take place on Saturday, December 7.
The finalist with the highest regular season score will host the game.
Inter Miami 2024 matches
Lionel Messi has turned Inter Miami into one of the most popular teams in the league, but he is not the only star on the squad.
His former FC Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are now part of the team and their addition has been credited as the main reason why the team won the last League Cup title, which is the club's first trophy in its six years of history.
