Many of the best restaurants in Germany are in Middle Franconia.
Restaurants in Nuremberg are particularly well represented.
Nuremberg – Middle Franconia is known for
Franconian wine known worldwide and its distinctive symbol, the Bockstaschen.
Beer brewing also has a long tradition.
The region has a distinctive gastronomic scene, which is also impressive when compared to Germany.
According to a ranking by the culinary magazine “Feinschmecker”, 19 of the 500 best restaurants in Germany can be found in Middle Franconia.

Every year the magazine chooses the best restaurants and summarizes them in a guide.
The 500 best addresses in Germany also include 19 from Middle Franconia.
The region is one of Germany's culinary strongholds.
As always, the testers were anonymous and independent, the magazine informs on its website.

The city of Nuremberg is strikingly often represented.
Three of the 14 Nuremberg addresses mentioned were awarded four out of five stars by “Feinschmecker”.
Some Nuremberg restaurants also made it onto the list of the famous restaurant guide “Guide Michelin Germany”.

According to “Feinschmecker” magazine, these restaurants offer “excellent cuisine and service as well as exceptional ambience and comfort”.
The etz, ZweiSinn Meiers and Essigbrätlein deserve this rating.

All restaurants in the top 500 ranking were individually evaluated again.
The highest possible rating is five stars and stands for “perfect in every way”.
However, only twelve restaurants in all of Germany achieved this.
Most recently, a Nuremberg restaurant took part in a well-known TV show.
