The energy utilization plan (ENP) for the municipality of Dietramszell is in place and was recently presented to the council members.

Dietramszell – Dishwasher, kettle and dryer are important household helpers.

But how much electricity do people use on average?

The annual electricity requirement in Dietramszell is around 2,845 kilowatt hours per inhabitant.

Private households consume 45.4 percent, followed by businesses (30.6 percent) and agriculture (11.1 percent).

Energy usage plan summarizes the need for action on 125 pages

These are the findings that emerge from the energy usage plan that Dietramszell commissioned from the Bürgerstiftung Energiewende Oberland (EWO) in 2022.

The ENP has now been completed - on 125 pages it is clearly explained what energy consumption it records and what potential has not yet been exhausted.

“There’s still a lot of room for improvement”

In 2021, the municipality was already able to cover 61.1 percent of Dietramszell's total electricity consumption with its own electricity - predominantly through photovoltaics (PV), produced on private roof systems.

The municipality is well positioned on this point, said Andreas Scharli from the EWO, “but overall there is still a lot of room for improvement,” he recently explained to the municipal councilors at the presentation of the ENP.

And in order to achieve the goal of breaking away from fossil fuels by 2035, the community still offers a lot of potential in terms of renewable electricity and heat energy.

According to calculations, 270,000 square meters of roof space would still be available for PV modules.

ENP shows: heat demand 3.8 percent higher

As the analyzes show, the heat requirement in the community is 3.8 percent higher than the final energy electricity requirement.

47.7 percent could be covered by wood as an energy source, for example in the form of pellets and wood chips.

Scharli sees the reason as being “the wooded community in which a lot of heating is done with wood”.

  • Details about the new residential area in Geretsried have been published

Scharli pointed out that 51 percent of the heat requirement is still covered by heating oil.

He therefore emphasized the increasing importance of geothermal energy.

According to ENP, this is a “stable and crisis-proof” energy source compared to wind or solar energy.

With numerous heat density maps, comparison diagrams, graphics and potential analyzes the function of heat collectors, probes and pumps are listed in the ENP and what possibilities they offer.

Dietramszell: Potentials and measures in the field of renewable energies

When drawing up the ENP, an inventory analysis was carried out which shows what potential the municipality has in the area of renewable energies and what measures can be taken.

Initiatives that the community could take on its own properties are also explained on the 125 pages.

A PV system on the B building of the elementary and middle school is promising.

According to the analyses, this stands out due to its high consumption of electricity and heat energy.

ENP is real potential for citizens, farmers and the community

Bernhard Fuchs (FW), member of the Working Group (AG) Energy and Environment, was very impressed by the extensive evaluation: “What we are offered offers real potential, especially for our citizens and farmers, not just for the community.”

He was impressed by the “gigantic opportunities that the renewable energy sector offers”.

It wasn't just Fuchs who was convinced by the facts.

The local council unanimously commissioned the administration to plan the recommended measures together with the Energy and Environment Working Group, taking economic aspects into account.

The ENP should be made available online for everyone to see on the municipality's website www.dietramszell.de.

Scharli advised that there should also be a presentation of the ENP for citizens where open questions could be answered.
