The former Trinkl bicycle shop at Hauptstrasse 17 in Maisach is coming back to life.
However, bikes will no longer be sold there, only second-hand items.
Maisach – On Monday, February 26th, a new shop will open on the premises: the so-called Floh-Insel.
Behind it is Bülent Kilic (49) and his business partner German Dimper.
Both already run a similar shop in Munich.
And this is how it works: Anyone who wants to can rent shelves on the Flea Island and use them to offer well-preserved, used goods for sale.
“But it can’t be antique items or things with a label,” explains Kilic.
Rent
The shelves can be rented on a weekly or monthly basis.
The 49-year-old and his partner do not receive any commission.
The situation is different with used clothing that is sold on the flea island.
A commission of two euros per hanger is due here.
The demand for shelves, each measuring 100 by 30 centimeters, is high, says Kilic.
Hobby artists also wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to present their works in this way.
There is no limit to the number of boards you can rent.
Such a concept already exists in the district: flea shopping in Fürstenfeldbruck.
In Maisach or Olching, where Kilic lives, such a shop is new territory, says the 49-year-old.
“You just have to see how it is received.” it
