Highlights: The incredible mistake of the Independiente fans in the classic against Racing that became a trend. The Red fans, who were able to have their cotillion again after a sanction from the security agencies, did not realize the mistake. The punishment dated back to an episode in 2023, when in the match against Banfield for the previous League Cup, from one of the headers, the fans lit and launched a nautical flare. Last week they had received the good news that the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sports (Aprevide) lifted the ban on drums, flags and musical instruments.

The reception in each of the fields where the classics of the seventh round of the Professional League Cup are played is always looked at with a magnifying glass.

For their own, but also for those of others, because a competition is tacitly set up to see which fan gives the best frame to the reception of their team.

And in Avellaneda, the honor went to Independiente, but an unusual mistake ended up turning it into a negative trend on social networks.

A LOVELY HELL 🔴🔥

The mockery appeared when one of the famous 'curtains' that occupies the entire tribune was displayed at one of the seats of the Libertadores de América - Ricardo Bochini stadium.

The problem was that he was upside down and was immortalized in the official television image, at the moment when the teams were formed for the protocol greeting at midfield.

The Red fans had longed for this moment.

Last week they had received the good news that the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sports (Aprevide) lifted the ban on those drums, flags and musical instruments, when they had a match left to play, right in this classic against Racing.

The punishment dated back to an episode in 2023, when in the match against Banfield for the previous League Cup, from one of the headers, the fans lit and launched a nautical flare. At the beginning of this season, the club's leaders were notified by the authorities about the restriction for their public.

However, the absence of “color” for the classic was reason enough for the leaders to ask Aprevide to reduce the sanction and the fans to commit to complying with what is allowed and demonstrate good will.

This motivated the Buenos Aires organization to try a kind of “test” to shorten the punishment dates.

"Attentive to the sanction imposed last tournament on Club Atlético Independiente (...) in the next three games played at home, the Aprevide authorities could reduce the measure, as long as the club and its fans continue with the demonstrated behavior last Saturday against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata,” the organization had anticipated in a statement.

After the good behavior against Lobo and the same line against Rosario Central on the last date, the organization decided to keep its word and lifted the sanction so that, against Racing, there would be flags and musical instruments, as well as smoke on the playing field. , although this aspect is organized by the leaders and not by the fans.

"After an evaluation and, after verifying the good behavior of the fans in the last matches played at home, the sanction imposed was complied with in a timely manner. In this way, the Avellaneda club is authorized to bring in musical instruments and flags during the next matches,” the organization said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Independiente's behavior allowed it to have its flags and contribute all its color in the Avellaneda classic.

As long as the clubs decide to support us and maintain appropriate behavior in the stadiums despite any sporting result, they will have our full collaboration,” said the head of Aprevide, Guillermo Cimadevila.
