The fall of the Omnibus Law in Deputies opened the door to an agreement between the ruling party and the
PRO
, headed by former president
Mauricio Macri
, who maintains telephone contact with
Javier Milei,
while he prepares to knit to be elected president of the PRO.
But the slamming of the door by the Macri governor of
Chubut
,
Ignacio "Nacho" Torres
with the Government, put
a possible pact between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza (LLA) on
standby , and Macri in an uncomfortable role.
In the last telephone conversation between Macri and Milei, they scheduled a meeting when the president returned from his trip to the United States, where he will participate in the Conservative Political Action Conference, the launch of Donald Trump's campaign to return to the White House.
Until the conflict that broke out on Friday from Chubut, Macri had in mind an agreement "from less to more" with Milei.
The former president even
thought about not merging
the blocks in Congress, putting Customs, AFIP or Anses as second lines to "unblock the functioning of the State" and in the future, together with LLA, prepare legislative lists for 2025 and the appointment of more people of the PRO already in the Cabinet.
But all that was put on hold.
From Villa La Angostura, Neuquén, one of the Patagonian provinces that accompanied Torres' claim, Macri was active in the search for a solution that would avoid the boiling point in which the conflict ended.
This is what Nacho Torres himself said this Saturday: "I spoke with Mauricio Macri, he made every effort to be able to generate a channel for dialogue, the problem, I insist, is that you don't know who to talk to. Macri tells me:
'Look, Nacho, let's try to solve it
.' Always with a legitimate spirit, this is not about changing figures."
"Macri was the most federal president in the history of the Republic, he knows the importance that the provinces have in the construction of a country. He spoke with everyone, he tried to help, he wants to help. It is not about a merger, of course There is an interblock, whether ministers are appointed or not, it is about moving the country forward," Torres remarked in dialogue with radio
Rivadavia
.
In turn, apart from a possible merger with the ruling party, Macri seeks the presidency of the PRO, with resistance from Patricia Bullrich, current Minister of Security of Javier Milei.
Bullrich, who managed the PRO until the presidential election in which she came third as a Together for Change candidate, came out to strongly cross Torres.
"No member of the PRO can agree with or validate the threat of confiscating private property. Not only is it obscene to make that threat, but they are statements that scare away investments, job creation and the progress of our country. The dilemma is simple: "Either everything remains the same or we embrace freedom and change," he said.
However, Torres revealed that Bullrich was aware of what was going to happen because he himself warned him.
"I know she agrees with me. I talked to her before, I spoke on the phone and explained to her, she told me: '
I thought you weren't going to do it
'. I also understand that she is a minister in the Milei Government," Torres said.
