There is great criticism from the CDU about citizens' money.
But now Hubertus Heil made a clear statement about what he thinks of the criticism from CDU leader Friedrich Merz.

Berlin - The heated debate about citizens' money is one of the big bones of contention between the traffic light coalition and the opposition.
The ongoing discussions have apparently left their mark on Labor Minister Hubertus Heil.
In particular, CDU leader Friedrich Merz's statements about lax sanctions on citizens' money for total objectors and "false incentives" apparently still left a sour taste in the SPD politician's mouth.

At the end of January, Merz directly attacked the SPD and particularly criticized the increase in citizens' money, which the IHK also criticized.
“You have become the party of subsidized unemployment,” Friedrich Merz accused Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s party during his speech at the general debate on the budget.
Just one of many attacks that has been directed at the traffic light coalition in the course of the citizens' money debate in recent weeks and months.
But now Heil countered and once again put the CDU faction leader in his place.
“I am very surprised, because he approved citizen's money in a roll-call vote in the Bundestag,” said the Labor Minister in an interview with the Internet portal

Even after the debate in the Bundestag, CDU leader Merz reiterated his criticism of the increase in citizens' benefits.
“It sets the wrong incentives,” said Merz at the time in the ARD “Morgenmagazin”.
“There are app computers and there are many employees on construction sites and in companies who say to their boss: 'Now look here, I would get this as citizen's allowance for my family, and I can get it from you. '
And if there is a difference of 200 euros, then hardly anyone will work for that.”

However, Merz also made it clear at the time that he did not treat all recipients of citizens' money with the same brush.
Ultimately, he is not concerned with people who cannot work because of illness or to care for a relative or who cannot find a job because of poor qualifications.
“We are talking about the 1.7 million able-bodied people in Germany who could work, but calculate that it is actually not worth it if they receive citizen’s benefit,” said Merz.

At the turn of the year, citizens' money had increased by twelve percent, which is intended to compensate for the general price increase.
CDU General Secretary Linnemann has already announced that he wants to abolish the citizens' money introduced by the traffic light government in its current form if there is a change in government.
