The military aid blocked by Republicans in the US Congress is urgently needed on the front.
However, former US President Donald Trump seems to overestimate his individual importance for the Ukraine war.
He said that as president he would be able to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours.

Zelensky spoke to reporter Bret Baier about the war in Ukraine.
The conversation between the Republican-affiliated channel and the Ukrainian president was published on February 22nd.
Another topic was Trump's statement that he could end the war in Ukraine.

He also wrote on his social media that the war would never have happened with him as president.
Zelensky had already said at the Munich Security Conference that he would be willing to visit the front line with Trump.
Zelensky: Trump should see “what’s going on here” in Ukraine
The reporter asked Zelensky what he would tell Trump if he were on the front line with Trump.
Zelensky replied: “I believe that his eyes and his ears will tell him what is going on here.”
The Ukrainian president would be happy to let any candidate, any decision-maker or anyone who can support Ukraine come to the front line.
They should understand what the war in Ukraine means.
“Who started this war and what is going on here,” said Zelensky.

“I just recommend him to come.
I am ready to go with him.
Maybe he wants to go alone without me, that doesn't matter to me," the president explained.
He should just come, see the people and talk to them, he added.
Zelensky cannot understand how Trump wants to solve the war within 24 hours.
Trump would be happy to solve the problem with him.
“I would explain everything to him and he would explain his thoughts.
Maybe he has some ideas, I don’t know,” Zelensky said.
“But he’ll see what’s going on here.
And after that he will understand that there are no two sides to the war.
There is only one enemy and that is Putin’s position,” the president made clear.
