The year starts off well.

A popular hardware store in Nuremberg has announced that it will not reopen until 2025.

Until then, the market will put its customers off with a creative solution.

Nuremberg – As soon as it gets a little more spring-like, people are bursting with enthusiasm.

The first ideas for the garden or your own four walls are hatched, but it's stupid when they can't be put into practice due to a lack of hardware stores.

Hornbach in Nuremberg will close by 2025

The regular customers of Hornbach on Trierer Strasse in Nuremberg could hardly have believed their eyes.

Because they suddenly found themselves in front of closed doors.

The company published on its website that the branch would be temporarily closed: “Hornbach says sorry!”

Then the company focused on the positive news, because saying “sorry” doesn’t mean “making things better.”

The market in Nuremberg is to be rebuilt and will therefore be closed until 2025.

Just two months ago, a Nuremberg institution closed its doors.

Hardware store in Nuremberg offers creative solutions

In order not to scare away its customers, the company comes up with a creative solution.

On the one hand, customers can go to the markets in Fürth, Schwabach and Erlangen, pre-order the goods and then just pick them up on site.

(Our Nuremberg newsletter informs you about all developments, news and stories from the Franconian metropolis.)

But an option is also offered locally: customers can use a pickup container in Nuremberg and are compensated thanks to a special feature.

Not a given: The service in Nuremberg is free of charge and available around the clock

As the company further reports, the service is “of course free of charge”.

As the website further states, orders from Monday to Saturday that are received by 11 a.m. will be brought to the pickup container on the same day by 3 p.m. at the latest.

The station is available 24 hours a day.

The only catch for customers: a smartphone is required to pick up the goods.

The company announced in mid-January that work would begin later this year.

In the first half of next year, “one of the most modern hardware stores in Germany will be able to open its doors again.” Most recently, a supermarket in Nuremberg caused amusement with a warning notice.
