On Sunday afternoon in Holzkirchner Herdergarten, 2,600 citizens from the entire district sent a powerful and constructive signal for diversity, tolerance, humanity and democracy.
Holzkirchen
– The demonstrators for diversity and tolerance in the Herdergarten were initially a little sparse.
But with children and cones and with buggy, scooter, bike, walker and wheelchair.
But at 3 p.m. sharp, the space in front of the stage was full of people of all ages dressed in colorful clothes, waving rainbow banners and placards.
Whether it was the members of the “Edelweiß Pirates” motorcycle club who handed out anti-AFD stickers, or older women who stood out with the words “Grandmas against the right” on their umbrellas: people made their opinions known.
“For democracy, against the right”, “Clear edge against the right”, “No tolerance for intolerance”, “Never again is now”, “If you turn right, you end up in a dead end” or a somewhat cryptic “Fck AfD” was the answer read.
The organizers from the citizens' alliance “Holzkirchen ist bunt”, including Andreas Wolkenstein, who welcomed all participants in the meeting, were thrilled by the number of people and the good atmosphere: “It is a strong sign of diversity, humanity, tolerance and democracy,” said Wolkenstein Applause and warned against the loss of decency in dealings and communication, against right-wing populism and supposedly simple solutions.

Wolkenstein cleared the stage for cabaret artist and author Christian Springer, who immediately addressed those who might want to join the event from the right-wing political camp: “Dear Reich citizens, lateral thinkers and AfDers, come on.
We're not having a nice afternoon today." Springer thought a rally for democracy was good, but the fact that it had to take place at all was an indictment of our society.
“Anyone who omits facts or distorts them and falsifies quotes is not the middle of society, he is right-wing right-wing,” he raged.
And: “Anyone who joins the right will get brown spots.”
Springer envisioned social cohesion and warned that no state had ever perished because it had taken care of those in need or refugees.
He called on people to show and set an example of decency and to stand up for democracy - even if it is “tense” and slow.
Found clear words: Christian Springer.

Cheers and applause were given to him, but also to the statements that the demonstrators were able to write in advance on small cards and hang on a colorful pin board and which were then read out: I support “Holzkirchen is colorful” because “an open, solidarity-based society is better for everyone is" because "we are all foreigners - somewhere", because "Habibi scores the most goals for us in the TuS" because "our grandma had to flee too" because "the Basic Law is not a joke, but is there to be followed to hold” were just some of these moving statements.

After the band Mountain Lake Vista from Holzkirchen and Bad Tölz sang in the finest Irish folk sound about the joy of calling Holzkirchen home and a festival atmosphere arose, Holzkirchen's mayor Christoph Schmid thanked his local council colleagues Anita Gritschneder (Greens) and Simon Ammer (SPD) and Dirk Kreder (FDP) for organizing the event, which sends such a positive signal and will allay the fear and concerns of the people from 97 nations living in Holzkirchen.
As a reminder, he read out the basic rights of the German constitution and also called on everyone to peacefully and with civil courage confront those who behaved in an anti-democratic manner.

Paul Winterer from the Citizens' Alliance read out greetings and expressions of solidarity from the companies located in Holzkirchen before the Well brothers Stofferl, Michael and Karli sang about the asylum accommodation needs in the "boomtown" Holzkirchen and at the "Graffelgrube" near Warngau in their well-known, grandiose musical cabaret style, where but the “giant Usmanov villa” would be vacant.
With their reading from the book of Bavaria, they presented a razor-sharp all-round sweep of the Bavarian political landscape since the pandemic and danced their way through federal politics to applause, cheers and whistles.
People sang along to the “Ei-ei-Aiwangerlied” and the boys jumped along to the performance of the Miesbach punk and rock band “Bieramiden”.
Before that, the “charter” of the citizens’ alliance was read out to cheers, which is intended to shape the attitude, actions and communication of those who commit to it for the future in Holzkirchen.
