A man set himself on fire this evening (Sunday) in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, the capital of the United States.
The arsonist was fatally injured, and was brought to the hospital suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The arsonist is not known to the embassy, no one from the embassy staff was injured.

About a month ago, an explosive device was found near the Israeli embassy in Sweden, the local police acted to defuse it while the embassy employees were in a security room.
Israel's ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nebo Coleman, wrote on the social network X as follows: "Today we were subjected to an attempted terrorist attack against the embassy in Stockholm and its employees. We thank the Swedish authorities for their quick response. We are not afraid of terrorism."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katz, also responded and wrote: "I congratulate the embassy staff in Sweden and the authorities for their vigilance and quick handling of the attempt to damage the embassy in Stockholm.
Our diplomats around the world are subject to danger and threats from supporters of Islamic terrorism.
