After excavation work: Fire brigades free the buried Gaißacher

A large fire brigade deployed to Obersteinbach on Saturday afternoon.

A buried victim had to be rescued there.

Gaißach - The first message on the emergency call on Saturday afternoon around 1:25 p.m. sounded quite dramatic, according to the Tölzer police: "In Obersteinbach, a man fell into a hole and was buried." A large contingent of emergency services was immediately mobilized.

Numerous members of the Lenggries and Gaißach volunteer fire departments rushed to the scene.

Resident stuck up to his stomach in soil

Fortunately, no one's life was in direct danger there.

However, the situation of a 41-year-old resident was more than unfortunate.

According to the police, the man was buried up to his stomach by slipping earth during excavation work on the agricultural property.

His brother first tried to dredge it on his own, but failed.

He then alerted the rescue workers.

Two excavators free the man from his predicament

Finally, two excavators were used to remove the surrounding earth material so that nothing could slide down.

The man from Gaißach was finally able to climb out of the hole in the ground himself.

I then took the 41-year-old to the waiting BRK ambulance, where he was checked for injuries.
