About a year and a half after he fell and was seriously injured at his wedding in Modi'in, Itay Hamani last week filed a lawsuit amounting to millions of shekels against the wedding hall where the event took place.

Hamani, 38 years old from Modi'in Illit, was seriously injured in his head and all parts of his body after falling from a height of about three meters at his wedding, as a result of dancing on a table raised by the guests.

In the lawsuit filed against the Yasmin Mansion event hall located in the city of Modi'in, it is claimed that Shahmani was taken to the medical center in Tel Hashomer after he lost consciousness, where he was sedated and ventilated for several weeks.

At the end of the rehabilitation process, the plaintiff remained disabled at an estimated rate of 100 percent disability and lost his ability to work.

"In our country there is a life-threatening custom according to which at certain weddings, the groom and/or the bride are lifted on a chair or table for dancing," the lawsuit states.

"This is an improper and dangerous practice that may lead to serious injuries to the body and soul, as any reasonable person understands and can expect to happen. Anyone who sees such a level cannot avoid the thought that they will soon see a disaster before their eyes. Every time an accident does not occur, you can breathe a sigh of relief and think until "How reckless and light-hearted this is. Because, in an instant, a happy event can turn into a tragedy and a major disaster," it said.

"It is a dangerous custom to lift the bride and groom for dancing."

"The happiest day of his life turned into a tragic day, after which his life will not be the same," said attorney Boaz Alkalai, who is representing the groom. "Lifting a bride or groom on tables during weddings is an improper and dangerous behavior that must be prevented and banned, since everyone whose eyes are on their head , understands that good things cannot come out of this, he added.

"This accident could have been easily avoided and all that needed to be done was to appoint an overseer on behalf of the hall who would have prevented dining tables from being brought into the dance floor or prevented people from getting on the tables," Attorney Alkalai. "I am confident that the court will do its job and see to the determination of responsibility , as well as mark a boundary and give instructions to halls and banquet halls regarding how they should behave in similar cases."

After the groom fell from the table, one of the musicians of the band who performed at the wedding came to his aid and gave him first aid. "It was terrible and terrible," he said, "the screams of the bride and His parents can't get out of my head." In the meantime, the MDA team was called to the scene, who gave the injured man medical treatment and evacuated him to the Tel Hashomer Medical Center while he was unconscious.

The director of the neurosurgery department at Tel Hashomer, Dr. Zion Zibley, examined him and determined that Khamanai had suffered a severe brain injury. "He is sedated and ventilated, being treated in the neurosurgical intensive care unit and the team is fighting for his life," he said.

The groom's rabbi, Yehuda Meizlik, told Walla! about the moments The dramatics at the end of the event "It happened after a particularly happy event." He also said that "the bride was a hero, she held everyone together and controlled the situation.

We were with her until two in the morning.

She behaved nobly." According to him, the bride and groom "waited a long time to get married.

This is a bride who has known for several years where she will get married, who will be the photographer and who will be the band.

In one moment everything was gone.

We plan, but God intervenes in our decisions."
