The one thousandth district heating connection in the city area has been established in Schongau.
Schongau - Mayor Falk Sluyterman, the commercial plant manager of the municipal utility Werner Hefele and the technical plant manager Florian Hiemer congratulated the Pfeiffer family with a voucher for five megawatt hours.
District heating in Schongau: early pioneering role
The city took on a real pioneering role in 1966 with the commissioning of its district heating network, when the decision was made to extract heat from the paper factory in order to heat households, commercial properties and public facilities and to supply them with warm water.
The municipal utilities are currently planning to further expand the district heating supply area.
