"The energy sector drives" the relaunch of economic relations between Rome and Buenos Aires and will be the centerpiece of a bilateral forum, scheduled for June, in Italy.
In an interview with ANSA, the president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, Giorgio Alliatadi Montereale, positively judges the recent mission of President Javier Milei to Rome, accompanied by a large representation of Argentine companies.
"It was a positive initiative with a lot of predisposition on the Italian side towards concrete integration and doing business", says Alliata, who also chairs the Argentine Eurochamber and is a member of the board of directors of the Italian-Argentine holding company Techint.
"Europe and Italy need energy, and Argentina has the world's second largest shale gas reserves and 21% of the world's estimated lithium reserves. These are sectors that create a lot of appetite for foreign investments and therefore become strategic for the Europe and Italy have safe access to these resources at reasonable prices", observes the manager.
Precisely in this vein, an important forum will be organized in Italy in June to present the South American country's opportunities in the energy sector, followed by an Italian entrepreneurial mission to Argentina in October.
"These are important and concrete steps on which we are committed as a Chamber of Commerce together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian embassy in Buenos Aires, the Argentine government, Assocamerestero and Confindustria", underlines Alliata.
