Farmers disrupted Green Party leader Ricarda Lang's visit to Magdeburg and prevented her from leaving despite dialogue.
Tons burned, eggs flew.
Magdeburg - Farmers' protests have been sweeping across Germany for weeks.
And the farmers are still not completely at peace.
Most recently in the focus of protesters: the Greens.
The party recently had to cancel the political Ash Wednesday in Biberach (Baden-Württemberg) at short notice because the protests in front of the venue got out of hand.
There were injured police officers.
After violent farmers' demonstrations, the Bavarian Greens only canceled another event on Wednesday.
There was talk of “extreme fear”.
The images that spread from Magdeburg on Saturday also look threatening.
Ricarda Lang, leader of the Green Party, arrived there for an internal party event.
Dozens of farmers therefore gathered to protest.
According to police, around 90 tractors and other vehicles had blocked the main road in the Buckau district by the time the event began in the late afternoon.
It had to be closed to traffic.
A hundred police were on site.
However, the mood changed.

Around 200 participants were there.
They parked their machines around the venue and lit fires.
After Lang's arrival there were shouts of "Boo!" and a concert of horns, and some also shouted "We're fed up!"
Lang then sought to talk to some farmers, said a police spokeswoman.
According to the Bild newspaper, Lang drove to the event site escorted by two police cars - but then returned to the demonstrators on foot under personal protection.
State and local politicians were also there.

The medium also reports that protest organizer Martin Dippe handed Lang a piece of paper with demands, including the reversal of the abolition of the concession on agricultural diesel and no introduction of the animal welfare cent proposed by Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir.
Lang then told Bild that such situations could and should “sometimes be unpleasant for politicians.”
She thinks that “sometimes you have to put up with booing.”
She was not afraid of confrontation.

However, the conversation did not calm the mood.
When Lang wanted to make his way back to Berlin after the event, farmers blocked the exit, as a police spokeswoman confirmed.
Pictures show burning barrels and tires along the road.
According to the picture, eggs also flew onto Lang's car.
The police called for reinforcements and a helicopter even circled over the area.
The blockade was only ended after 45 minutes and the Green Party leader left.
Even if the impression was dramatic, according to the police, Ricarda Lang was never in danger.
There were also no injuries.
Demo organizer Dippe described the situation on site to Bild as “briefly difficult”, but the situation was able to be de-escalated.
He also revealed that they had agreed to talk to Lang again at an appointment at the beginning of April.
