At the Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in kyiv, a battered Shahed and a Kinjal tip lie on the ground, among several dozen other dismembered missiles used by the Russians.

After each bombing, the institute's experts investigate the site of the strike and return the missile found, or what remains of it, to their laboratories.

The extracted components are then screened and subjected to a battery of radiographic and chemical tests.

The reports are sent to Ukraine's prosecutor general's office, which is responsible for documenting each bombing and war crime, with a view to one day bringing Russia before an international court of justice.

Analysis of the missiles also makes it possible to determine their origin.
