The Vhs Moosburg is celebrating its 50th birthday and has planned all sorts of interesting events.
It started with a special kind of fashion show - and prominent models.
Moosburg
– “Moosburg instead of Milan” was the motto recently in the Vhs auditorium on the town square.
Unusual models dared to take a fashionable look at the past five decades: Vhs lecturers, Moosburg city councilors and even town hall boss Josef Dollinger.
They all strolled along the “catwalk”.
The audience was thrilled.
It was the garment of emancipation: Marlene Dietrich wore the first trouser suit in the 1930s.
Gerda Fischer shone with a model from her own collection.
In glittering yellow and gold with business-style block stripes, the adult education center director may have attracted many a piqued look as a young girl in the 1980s.
On the arm of show legend Johannes Heesters, aka Mayor Josef Dollinger, she walked in this special creation past the many spectators who were clapping their hands sore on the left and right of the catwalk.

Flower power, floral patterns, crochet look, bell-bottoms and platform shoes in the style of top model “Twiggy”: Jadra Jankovic, Sonja Strehle, Nadine Sukniak and Helen Stömmer presented themselves with the retro trend from the 70s.
The Vhs Moosburg was founded on October 17, 1974 in the living room of Hermann Miedl, the first director of the adult education facility, said Gerda Fischer, who moderated the event.
And from a small group of idealists.
Five courses with 35 double hours were offered, including ceramics, photography, shorthand and typing.
In 2019 there were 693 courses with 8,300 double lessons and 8,815 participants, the head of the adult education center recalled the “pre-Corona era”.
After the pandemic, the following question was the priority: whether and how online formats could be continued?
Face-to-face offers cannot be replaced, that was the opinion at the time.
The Vhs Moosburg should remain a meeting place.
The Vhs story is currently shown on panels in an exhibition in the auditorium.

Fischer directed special thanks to the town hall.
While in the last century we had to operate at various venues, in 2013 we were able to move into the “House of Education” in the former rooms of the Stadtsparkasse Moosburg with financial support from the city of Moosburg.
The technology and techno scene of the 2000s - Moosburg was the first adult education center in the district to offer computer courses - was of course also reflected in the fashion show.
City councilor Rudi Heinz wore typical clothing from that time: a bomber jacket made of parachute silk.
