Last weekend a plane had to make an emergency landing on its way from Madrid to Mallorca.
One passenger suffered a medical emergency.
Doctors provided assistance in the air.
Palma de Mallorca – A medical emergency occurred on a Ryanair flight from the Spanish capital Madrid to the holiday island of Mallorca last Sunday (February 18).
Around half an hour after takeoff, a passenger vomited several times, the local newspaper
Mallorca Diario
reported.
The pilot then requested an early landing on Mallorca.

The man was sitting in row 11 and felt very uncomfortable, fellow passengers said.
The man collapsed around 45 minutes after takeoff,

The flight attendants quickly moved down the aisle to help the passenger.
After the pilot was made aware of the medical emergency, the captain asked over the loudspeaker for a doctor on board.
Three people then provided first aid.
In the meantime, the pilot requested landing priority from the tower in Palma de Mallorca, according to
Mallorca Diario.

The control tower at the airport in Palma de Mallorca confirmed the prioritization, so that the plane was able to descend quickly and land early.
An ambulance was already waiting on the runway, which continued to care for the patient and took him to a hospital.
According to the report, it is suspected that the man felt unwell due to low blood sugar levels.
Statistically speaking, airplanes are one of the safest means of transport.
Last year alone, a total of 4.6 billion passengers were transported worldwide.
However, with this large number of flights, medical emergencies or emergency landings occasionally occur.
But there are also strange incidents on board.
Passengers were recently amazed when they found out that their flight was not going to Mallorca as planned.
