District - Bavaria's Family Minister Ulrike Scharf emphasizes on the occasion of the discussion about the federal government's competences in education policy: “The federal government is on a ghost ride in education policy!
To speak out in favor of comprehensive language tests for daycare children and more skills for the federal government and at the same time to irresponsibly cancel the language daycare program without necessity is contradictory, unbelievable and completely incomprehensible for families and daycare centers.
The uncoordinated work of the federal government can hardly be surpassed in terms of absurdity and creates uncertainty.
The federal government’s considerations are an attack on our well-functioning federal structures.”
The minister further emphasizes: “This federal government is obviously still not aware of the immense importance of language training.
Language is the key to life!
Only with it are integration, participation and educational success possible.
The quality of early childhood education and the linguistic support of our little ones are my top priority!
The Free State does not leave the children, parents and our dedicated specialists alone.
The language daycare program has been continued in the Free State since July 2023 despite the federal government's withdrawal.
Bavaria continues to finance the program with 37.5 million euros and thus saves the Bavarian language daycare centers.”
