After the heavy snowfall in Austria, the weather is about to undergo a major change.
In some areas temperatures can climb to 16 degrees.
Innsbruck – Austria was hit by an onset of winter on Friday (February 23rd).
The Austrian weather service had already warned about the masses of snow.
The fresh snow, which was up to one meter deep, caused power outages in many regions.
The Brenner motorway had to be partially closed on Friday due to heavy snowfall.
But the rapid onset of winter is set to go as quickly as it came.

The winter chaos caused fallen trees in parts of Carinthia, blocking numerous roads and leading to power outages, as

On Saturday (February 24th) around 6,000 households were without power.
In addition, the Brenner motorway was closed for several hours on Friday between Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass.
According to the dpa news agency, around 300 people were stuck in traffic for up to ten hours and were looked after by emergency services.

On Saturday the situation had calmed down somewhat.
The avalanche warning service called on athletes to exercise extreme restraint.
Tours and variant descents required great caution.
From Sunday, a stable and foehn-like southerly current is expected, which will move from south to east in the next few days.
Weather change after snow chaos in Austria – temperatures are rising

rain or snow in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia on Sunday, the snowfall limit is around 1000 meters.
The temperatures in the southwest are two to four degrees, in the rest of Austria the temperatures can even rise to 14 degrees.

Temperatures will continue to rise in the coming week.

writes, it will initially remain cloudy in Upper Styria and Carinthia, while in the northeast it will remain mostly sunny and dry.
The temperatures climb up to 15 degrees.

On Tuesday the temperatures in Austria are between 6 and 16 degrees.
From Tyrol to Lower Austria the sun shines at times.
Snow occasionally falls between the Brenner and the Koralpe, and it can rain below 1200 meters.
It can also be sunny in some areas on Wednesday, but it will remain cloudy from Vorarlberg to the Innviertel and in Carinthia.
It can rain between the main Tyrolean Alpine ridge and the Karawanken mountains; the snowfall limit is between 800 and 1200 meters.
Temperatures can also reach 5 to 16 degrees on Wednesday.
