reports, Ira von Fürstenberg died on February 19, 2024 in her native Rome, she was 83 years old.
Ira was the eldest child of Tassilo zu Fürstenberg (84, † 1987) and Clara Agnelli (96, † 2016).
In 1955 she made headlines when she married Alfonso Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (79, † 2003) at the age of just 15.
The wedding in Venice became a major social event with around 1,000 guests from the world of nobility and high society.

Just five years later, Ira and Alfonso's marriage was annulled after the birth of their sons Christoph (49, † 2006) and Hubertus von Hohenlohe (65).
While Hubertus caused a sensation as a ski racer for Mexico and made a name for himself as a singer and photographer, his older brother Christoph died at the age of 49 in a prison in Bangkok, Thailand, after being arrested on an allegedly forged visa, according to

Ira von Fürstenberg's second marriage was to the Brazilian entrepreneur Francisco Pignatari (61, † 1977).
After the divorce in 1964, she appeared in front of the camera as an actress for numerous films, mainly Italian productions, and established herself, among other things, as general director of the fashion company Valentino.

But an engagement never took place, which was probably primarily due to Ira von Fürstenberg, as she revealed in her own Sat.1 show “Palastgehisper”.
The Monegasque palace did not comment on the romance rumors, but Ira joked on the “Harald Schmidt Show” in 1996: “They were lucky they didn’t get me.
This is much better for them.”
Albert, Caroline and Stéphanie did not have a stepmother - and today's Princess Charlène of Monaco did not have a mother-in-law, Ira von Fürstenberg.
This means she will not be part of the planned Grimaldi series directed by Grace Kelly's grandson.
