End of the footpath and cycle path: From the junction with Glückaufstrasse, an accident hotspot, the B 472 is to be expanded to the entrance to Waakirchen.

The cycle path on the B 472 could be extended from the end of Waakirchen to Glückaufstrasse.
Expropriations are also possible for necessary reasons.
Waakirchen – To the west, a new cycle path has been connecting Waakirchen with Reichersbeuern for more than a year.
There is still a piece missing to the east - from the end of the town to the junction with Glückaufstrasse.
This could change soon.
Last Tuesday, the government of Upper Bavaria reported “the green light for the expansion of the B 472 near Waakirchen”.
This had so far failed because the necessary reason could not be obtained.
When the cycle path to Reichersbeuern opened, those involved were already confident that they would find a solution for the project that had been hoped for for many years.
Now the time could soon come and construction work could begin next year.
The district carried out a planning approval process for this purpose, and the decision was made on February 7th.
If this becomes legally binding, expropriations are possible in order to carry out the expansion.
First, however, the decision with the planning documents in Waakirchen and Warngau will be laid out for two weeks.
It is also available online on the Upper Bavaria government website.
Cycle path near Waakirchen: “Construction could start in 2025”
The Rosenheim State Building Authority is responsible for expanding the B472.
The deadline is now awaited there.
“If no complaints are received and the decision becomes final,” explains spokeswoman Ursula Lampe, further planning will be initiated.
“In this case, construction could begin in 2025,” Lamp continues.
The plan is to widen the road from the end of the town to the junction with Glückaufstrasse.
This will be flanked by a footpath and cycle path in the future.
“In addition, the accident-prone junction at the level of Glückaufstrasse is to be defused by building a left-turn lane and a crossing aid for pedestrians and cyclists,” said the government of Upper Bavaria.
Unavoidable interventions in nature and the landscape are to be compensated for with an area of around 2,900 square meters.
Threatening expropriations: District tries to reach agreements
However, the fact that the planning approval decision has created the basis for expropriations does not mean that it has to come to this.
According to the district, attempts will first be made to come to an agreement with the property owners.
If this fails, expropriation proceedings will begin - and the district government makes it clear that it is no longer a question of whether expropriation will take place, but rather the modalities and, in particular, the amount of compensation.
