Blow for blow.
The duel between the presidential camp and the National Rally with a view to the European elections has begun.
And it was Emmanuel Macron himself who started the hostilities.
In the columns of L'Humanité, first, by estimating that “the far-right forces would be inspired not to be present” at the pantheonization of Missak Manouchian.
Then in the fiery aisles of the Agricultural Show, where he pounded the “project of degrowth and stupidity” which would consist of “leaving Europe”.
A theorized counter-offensive, while the counters are turning against his camp: the Walkers, who had initially planned to launch their campaign a month ago, are outclassed (by more than ten points!) by Jordan Bardella's list in the polls.
The Head of State therefore sounded the alarm, an assumed strategy.
“It was a match week against the RN on two subjects emblematic of our very strong differences with them,” agrees one of those close to him.
Manouchian is the relationship with history;
agriculture is the relationship with Europe and openness to the world.
» At the same time, as revealed by La Tribune on Sunday, Macron decided to make his choice for head of the list, MEP Valérie Hayer.
