He dived into the water without hesitation to save a roe deer that ended up in the sea following an investment on the SS 16: the protagonist of the story is SamuelMassa, a 14-year-old boy from Fossacesia (Chieti), a student at the Nautical Institute of Ortona, who will be received and awarded in the Municipality in the next days.

The mayor of the coastal centre, Enrico Di Giuseppantonio, made the incident known.

"Sensitivity and good manners must always be exalted - he explained - especially when it comes to young people. Sometimes, as in this case, it surprises us because too often we describe the new generations as insensitive to everything that surrounds them. Samuel's gesture, on the other hand, , who dived into the sea, while he was fishing with a friend on the Via Verde of the Costa dei Trabocchi, to save a roe deer, deserves a big thank you from all of us".

The event happened a few days ago.

A roe deer, injured after being hit by a vehicle on the 'Adriatica' highway 16, and scared and in pain, sought shelter and ended up in the sea: the animal, in difficulty, was noticed by the boy who, without thinking twice, dived in and he managed to save the roe deer.

The animal was then handed over to the care of the Atessa Forestry Carabinieri.

"I was moved - commented the mayor - and at the same time I am proud of Samuel's beautiful gesture, driven by his passion for animals and nature, which demonstrated that it is possible to sow the seed of goodness and altruism. We will soon

invite him to the Municipality to reward him and to be able to show him all our gratitude."
