One soldier is said to have held off ten attackers.

A drone video from the Ukraine front provides evidence, including reactions from a Russian commander.

KIEV - A Ukrainian soldier allegedly single-handedly stopped ten Russian forces from taking part in an offensive.

This is shown by a drone video published on Telegram by the eighth separate mountain assault battalion of the 10th mountain assault brigade of Ukraine, which was translated by the X user “WarTranslated”.

You can hear a Russian commander shouting increasingly angrily at his soldiers on the radio because they are not overpowering the Ukrainian despite their numerical superiority.

As the Ukrainian soldier fired and threw grenades, the Russian commander demanded: “Someone should come from the left and finish the hell out of him.”

He then orders grenades to be thrown.

“Dammit, there’s only one person holding you back!

A man!

Ten of you!” the commander was quoted as saying in the Telegram post.

Ukrainian soldier well – Old event for anniversary message

The Ukrainian post said that all ten Russian forces were either dead or injured.

The Ukrainian soldier is in good health after “cold-bloodedly repelling the attack”.

“He forced the remnants of the enemy to flee, defended his position and waited for reinforcements,” the so-called “Edelweiss” battalion continued.

“The video clearly shows the orcs turning like worms and crawling around the trench where our fighter is sitting,” the Mountain Storm Battalion explained.

However, the soldier apparently did not defend his position all alone, and the recording drone also dropped an explosive body on a soldier at the end of the video.

Heroic deed from the winter for courage in the now - New Russian offensive pushes back the Ukrainian front

Contrary to what might be expected at first glance, the event did not take place recently: “The heroic event occurred in December,” says the Telegram post published on Saturday.

The post was published on the occasion of the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine and, according to the post description, is one of many proofs that the Ukrainian soldiers are “fighting tirelessly and courageously against the sworn enemy.”

Most recently, Russia's offensive broke the stalemate on the Ukrainian front near Avdiivka.

Several sources reported that several hundred soldiers were left wounded there.

Given the high number of deaths on both sides, the Telegram post may certainly be a kind of encouragement for the war, which has now been going on for two years.

Ukraine offensive leads to heavy losses

According to estimates by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj, 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers died in the two years after the start of the war, while the USA and Russia spoke of 100,000 to 300,000 dead Ukrainians.

According to the independent media portals

and

, the number of Russian soldiers killed is estimated at 75,000; the British Ministry of Defense expected around 70,000 dead Russian troops in December 2023.
