The week started unpleasantly for the residents of a residential building in the Schweinfurt district: a loud bang, then an evacuation of their home.
The reason: an ATM on the ground floor was blown up.
Schweinfurt – The residents of a residential building in Stadtlauringen (Schweinfurt district) were probably rudely woken up.
As the police report, an ATM at a Sparkasse branch was blown up in the early hours of Monday morning on February 26th.
The residents of the residential building in which the Sparkasse branch is located were evacuated by the fire department.
The ground floor was badly damaged by the detonation.
But no one was injured, according to the police.
To ensure that the house was not in danger of collapsing, a structural engineer was called in.
After he had checked the building, the residents were able to go back into the house.
In Stadtlauringen (Schweinfurt district), an ATM at a savings bank was blown up in the early hours of Monday, February 26th.
The house then had to be evacuated.

Police helicopter in action – perpetrators on the run
The perpetrators are currently still at large, according to the police.
The search is ongoing.
A police helicopter is also in use.
It was initially unclear whether the thieves were able to steal money during the robbery.
The police and LKA emergency services now checked on site how the perpetrators acted.
The investigation into this is ongoing.
More detailed investigations into the explosives will take place in the coming days.
