After modernization: Yellow should remain the dominant color at Munich's Fraunhoferstrasse subway station

The architectural redesign of the station is inspired by the namesake Joseph von Fraunhofer.

The color concept is based on the spectrum of sunlight, which Fraunhofer analyzed intensively, as the MVG reports.

The color yellow should remain the central identifying feature of the platform, as is already the case, but red and blue tones will also beautify the subway station.

The current fire protection concept also provides for a mechanical smoke extraction system.

For this purpose, the access structure on the corner of Fraunhoferstrasse and Klenzestrasse is to be expanded to a height of around 11 meters, as space in the existing subway station is very limited and the smoke exhaust system and the associated technical rooms must be accommodated.
