This is a rare incident, and fortunately without consequences.
This Monday, February 26, around 3:10 p.m., during a maneuver at Place d'Italie station, "a bogie from a line 5 train partially left its track", confirms the RATP.
The bogie is the carriage where the wheels and axles of a train are attached.
This partial derailment fortunately caused no injuries.
“The train was leaving the garage area at low speed, there were no passengers on board the train,” specifies the management.
❌Traffic is interrupted between Place d'Italie and Campo-Formio and will resume around 8:00 p.m.
This follows an intervention by the technical teams at Place d'Italie.

RATP technical teams have been hard at work since the incident “to carry out operations to put the train back on the track and check the state of the infrastructure as quickly as possible.
As a result, traffic is interrupted between Campo-Formio and Place d'Italie stations, resumption is estimated around 8 p.m.
“An internal investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the incident.”
Fortunately, incidents of this type are very rare on the metro.
In June 2022, a line 10 train left its track, between Jussieu and Gare d'Austerlitz stations.
There too, the train was empty.
The most serious recent accident to report took place on August 30, 2000. A train traveling on line 12 overturned between the Saint-Georges and Notre-Dame-de-Lorette stations, causing 24 minor injuries.
