Madame Figaro.-

What is your relationship with makeup?

Dua Lipa.-

I think my relationship with makeup has definitely improved, quite simply because I feel like I'm more good at it today... whereas that wasn't the case before !

Growing up, I went through a lot of “trial periods.”

It took me a while, but now I know what works best for me, what makes me feel good and confident.

Even in terms of application techniques, I think I've reached a point where I'm doing well.

What place does makeup occupy in your art?

Makeup is an extension of me and my creativity.

It allows me to highlight the things I like about myself, it helps me to have confidence in myself, to feel powerful.

I love playing with different colors, trying new looks on the eyes.

I try to do it myself as much as possible when I'm traveling or when I'm out with my friends.

Your essential makeup product?

Lipstick is more or less the only part of my beauty routine.

If I leave home and don't wear makeup, that's the only thing I take with me.

It's my essential.

I think there must be only lipsticks lying around at the bottom of my bag... The other day I took a look inside and there were a dozen tubes!

It's an obsession.

Your favorite lipstick color?

I almost only wear one color.

It can vary, but it's always a nude shade in brown tones, as I find it accentuates my assets.

I sometimes wear a shade darker in the evening and opt for a lighter brown during the day.

It's my favorite color, and it hasn't changed since I was about... 16 or 17.

This is the basis for me.

Do you remember the first makeup product you wore?

Probably one of my mother's lipsticks!

Who are your makeup icons?

The incredible, natural and free women of the 90s inspire me.

Whether they are super

glamorous

or have a rather sober look.

This energy of

fun , freedom, youth... I love Chloë Sevigny, Kate Moss, Vanessa Paradis, Naomi Campbell... Cool and

glamorous

girls

who party, who have fun!

How much time do you devote to your beauty routine each day?

No more than 10 or 15 minutes.

It's really quick, easy, and shouldn't require too much maintenance.

I know exactly what I need to do, I know what order I need to apply my makeup in, so I do it really quickly so I can get out the door really quickly.

A little foundation, mascara, lipstick, bronzer and blush, and I'm ready.

You also wear very daring beauty looks, whether in your clips, on stage or on your social networks...

I like to experiment with new looks.

I like to try different things.

It also depends on my mood, the outfit I wear, where I am.

It all depends on the day.

When I'm on stage, I love doing full makeup, experimenting and trying new things.

In your “

Houdini

” music video, you revealed yourself with your new red hair... Where did this radical change of face come from?

The color red really resonated with me, along with all my newfound musical impulse.

I had the feeling that when I listened to my songs from my new album, I always saw this sort of burgundy red, so I did that.

It was kind of an impulsive decision.

I wanted to try experimenting and testing a new color, and I really feel like myself with this red.

It requires a bit of maintenance, I have to touch up the color every two or three weeks, but it's much less restrictive than my peroxide blonde, which was traumatic to say the least!

It took me a while to get over the discoloration...

Your best beauty tip?

“Less is more”

 !

I love this approach to beauty.

If not, I also like to apply my lipstick on all parts of my face.

I love applying it on my cheeks as a blush, on my eyelids... If I have a last minute plan, I take a tube in my bag and use it everywhere!
