Polish farmers block the border near Frankfurt (Oder) from Sunday to Monday.
There is no traffic chaos - even with protests on the German side.
Slubice/Frankfurt - Polish farmers blocked the highway to Germany at the border near Frankfurt (Oder) for 24 hours.
On Monday afternoon, traffic was able to flow again after the end of the protest, as a spokeswoman for the Polish police in Slubice told the German Press Agency.
During the blockade of Autobahn 12, car and truck drivers were diverted to other routes.
There was no traffic chaos at the border crossing.
The East Police Department spoke of a relatively relaxed traffic situation, as trucks in particular were diverted early.
The protests by Polish farmers that have been going on for weeks are directed against EU agricultural policy, but also against the import of cheap agricultural products from Ukraine.
In Germany, farmers are protesting primarily against the planned subsidy cuts for agricultural diesel.
On Sunday and Monday morning, trucks, cars and buses had to take diversions because tractors were parked for miles on the Polish side.
The farmers set up the blockade on the A2 motorway - the extension of the A12 on the Polish side - on Sunday afternoon from the Swiecko traffic junction to the border in both directions.
On Sunday evening, another blockade with tractors, vans and trucks caused a temporary traffic jam on the city bridge in Frankfurt (Oder) - the connection to Słubice in Poland.
The protest broke up on Monday afternoon.
The police took a total of three reports.
In one case, a car tried to get through the blockade in Frankfurt (Oder) on Monday and took a meeting participant with it on the hood, a spokesman said.
The police filed a complaint for attempted grievous bodily harm.
The vehicle, which came from Poland, did not want to stop despite the road blockage and tried to “push through”.
A meeting participant landed on the hood of the car and rode along for another meter or two, the spokesman said.
The police intervened.
She handcuffed the driver until he calmed down again.
