A Belarusian man is accused of smuggling four Russians into Bayrischzell and violating weapons law.

He is now in custody in Stadelheim.

Bayrischzell

- The federal police arrested a man from Belarus near Bayrischzell early on Sunday morning who is said to have smuggled four Russian nationals on their last leg from Slovenia.

As the officials have now announced, the suspected smuggler is now in custody in Stadelheim on a court order.

In addition to smuggling, he is accused of violations of the weapons law: the man had a one-hand knife and a telescopic baton ready to hand in the glove compartment.

The police seized both weapons.

The federal police officers became aware of the 41-year-old last Sunday between 4 and 5 a.m. during a check in the Bayrischzell municipality.

According to the officials, the driver was able to identify himself with his Belarusian passport and a Polish residence permit.

“His four passengers, however, did not have the necessary entry documents,” says the police.

According to their findings, the passengers come from Russia and are related to each other.

According to their own statements, they had to pay a total of 4,000 euros for the smuggling, which was apparently organized in stages.

Pretrial detention in Stadelheim

The officers brought the four suspected traffickers separately from their driver to the responsible federal police station in Rosenheim.

There the four Russians each submitted a request for protection.

After the police measures were completed, they were directed to a contact point for migrants in Munich.

The federal police reported their driver for smuggling in foreigners and for violating the weapons law.

The Belarusian who was registered in Poland did not want to comment to the federal police on the respective allegations.

The district court in Munich granted the public prosecutor's request on Monday and ordered the accused to be taken into custody, according to the police.

He has to wait in the Munich-Stadelheim correctional facility for the next steps in his criminal proceedings.
