On video: downing of a UAV, Lebanon, February 26, 2024/documentation on social networks according to Article 27 A of the Copyright Law
Hezbollah shot down an Air Force unmanned aircraft this morning (Monday), which crashed in Lebanese territory, and in response the IDF attacked the organization's targets in the Baalbak region deep in Lebanon, about a hundred kilometers from the border. This is the first attack in the region since the beginning of the current war.
In the morning hours, the organization launched two Surface-to-air missiles at a "Zik" type UAV, and one of them managed to hit it while the other was intercepted by the "David Slingshot" system.
The interceptions caused alarm in the Jezreel Valley area.
Hezbollah has invested a lot of effort in recent years in arming itself with anti-aircraft weapons, in light of Israel's air superiority.
Throughout the current conflict, he tried on several occasions to attack Air Force aircraft, but in most cases they failed or were intercepted.
Hezbollah has even claimed several times in recent weeks that it has taken over an air force aircraft of the "Skylark" type.
