Berlin – On March 2nd
The time has come: Uschi Glas is turning 80. The television star looks back on an exciting and successful life and is far from having had enough.
In the interview she reflects on her past and talks about her great love.
Uschi Glas reveals: “I was pressured into marriage”
Hardly any film actress in the 1960s was as beautiful as she was.
And she hasn't lost any of this beauty.
Uschi Glas is looking forward to her big birthday and can't wait for the next few years.
She has been happily together with her husband Dieter Hermann (73) for 21 years.
But things didn't always look rosy in love for Uschi Glas either.
In an interview with the
Bild
newspaper she spoke about her life and career.
Especially about the time when she became a mother for the first time at the age of 33 and lived in a “wild marriage” – a big scandal at the time.
“The more intense the pressure from film producers became that my clean-woman image would suffer with a child out of wedlock, the more defiantly I ignored it,” said the TV legend.
Not a bad word to say about his ex-husband: “Old hat” for Uschi Glas
At some point they got married anyway - but of their own free will.
Uschi Glas's first marriage lasted over 33 years until it became public knowledge in 2002 that her husband had cheated on her with a younger woman.
This was a big shock for the movie star, and the public gloating particularly took a toll on her.

Today, however, Uschi Glas is confident about this difficult topic: “For me, it’s old hat,” she explains calmly.
“I have now been happily with my second husband Dieter for 21 years.
(…) Our relationship is based on respect, love and equality.
We share the same values, views and manners.
We really enjoy cooking together in the evenings,” she explained.
But her great love, Dieter, also caused her great worries in the past.
In another interview, Uschi Glas said that her husband had almost died twice.
