In the midst of the fight with the governors over
joint funds
, senators from radicalism, dissident Peronism and provincial parties demanded that Vice President Victoria Villarruel call
a special session
to debate the decree of necessity and urgency signed by Javier Milei as soon as he took office. December of last year.
The note
was sent late on Friday
, but it entered the Upper House this morning and demands "according to the provisions of Article 19 and 20 of the Regulations, by virtue of its power, to call a special session" to discuss the DNU.
Most of the signatories
belong to Patagonian provinces
, with the exception of two missionaries and the three dissident Peronists.
These are Santa Cruz residents Natalia Gadano and José María Carambia, from Por Santa Cruz;
the Fuegian radical Pablo Blanco;
the representative of Together We Are Río Negro, Mónica Silva;
and the dissident Peronists Edgardo Kueider (Entre Ríos), Carlos Espínola (Corrientes) and Alejandra Vigo (Córdoba).
The missionaries of the Frente Renovador de la Concordia, Carlos Arce and Sonia Rojas Decut, also signed their signature.
On the other hand, Andrea Cristina (PRO) and Edith Terenzi (UCR) from Chubut were not in the game.
Session request to discuss the DNU.
The regulations grant the Vice President of the Nation, as president of the Senate, the power to establish the day and time of the call to the session, something that was part of the discussion with the Frente de Todos and its previous claims.
In addition, the Bicameral for Monitoring of Necessity and Urgency Decrees, which was convened last week, will formally begin this Thursday to debate the legality of Milei's DNU, as well as dozens of similar regulations sent by the government of Alberto Fernández.
Villarruel has been receiving
pressure from the Unión por la Patria bloc
, which has already asked him twice to call a special session to discuss the mega decree of 300 articles that includes everything from the repeal of the Rental Law to a labor reform.
The DNU entered Congress on January 5.
The bicameral Legislative Procedure
had 10 days to deal with it.
The DNU treatment law establishes that once that period has passed, either chamber can directly submit it to a vote in the chamber.
