Where to plant a lilac in the garden?
Although the lilac is a fairly undemanding shrub as to where it is planted in the garden, it still has preferences which can influence the abundance of its flowering:
Location:
to flower well, lilacs like to be planted in a sunny location.
Although it can grow in partial shade, its flowering may be less generous.
Also, the lilac can be planted in isolation or form a beautiful flowering hedge.
To do this, separate the feet by approximately 2 m to give each one room to develop well.
It can also be placed on a terrace or balcony if it is planted in a large container;
Soil:
if the lilac adapts well to different types of soil, it prefers calcareous and well-drained soils.

Watering:

As an adult, in a free hedge, it can reach 7 m in height and measure around 3 m in wingspan;
Pruning:
in order to allow it to retain all its beauty, the lilac must be pruned every year.
Just after the flowering period, clear it of dead or damaged branches as well as any that are too close to the ground.
Also remove faded flowers gradually to stimulate the appearance of new buds;
Diseases and parasites:
although the lilac is a rather disease-resistant shrub, it can be targeted by downy mildew, powdery mildew or even cochineal.
