Lilo Pulver is one of the most famous German-speaking film actresses.
The 94-year-old had to overcome some low points in her life.
Switzerland – Lilo Pulver celebrated her 94th birthday on October 11th.
The actress, who was actually christened Liselotte, is considered one of the most successful German film stars in history and, in addition to her impressive performances in front of the camera, was also known for her infectious laugh.
In her memoirs “Laughed in the Face of Life,” which was published in 2017, Lilo also wrote, among other things, about the tragic strokes of fate that permanently changed her life.
Today, according to “t-online” reports, Pulver “lives in seclusion in a retirement home in Switzerland.”
Lilo Pulver had to cope with the terrible death of her daughter
Over the course of her life, Lilo Pulver became the mother of two children.
However, the cult actress lost her daughter Mélisande in a particularly tragic way in 1989.
The then 21-year-old fell from the cathedral platform, a terrace in front of the Bern cathedral, and died from her serious injuries.
Just three years later, Pulver's husband Helmut Schmid (1925–1992) died of a heart attack.
Lilo wrote about these low points in her autobiography: “Sometimes I had the feeling: I was actually all alone.
There are times when I wonder why it has to be this way.
Of course I have days when I don’t laugh.”
Despite the blows of fate, Lilo Pulver never wanted to give up hope
Although her life presented her with a number of challenges, Lilo Pulver never let her exuberant optimism get in the way.

“It was and is a happy, successful life.
I have achieved almost everything I wanted to achieve.
Professionally, I always wanted to be number one.
I managed to do that for a while,” she says in her book.
Even at the age of 94, Lilo Pulver continues to be remembered with film hits such as “I often think of Piroschka” and “The Wirtshaus im Spessart”.
Meanwhile, the television world is in mourning: RTL cult presenter Frank Papke (†67) has died after a long illness.
