A witness who spoke with the local newspaper Compass reported that he heard
at least ten gunshots
.
In addition, there were
hundreds of children and families
in the stadium who managed to escape once they became aware of what was happening in the stands.
A large part of the spectators made the decision to enter the tunnel that leads to the locker rooms, this being the only hiding place nearby.
So far,

," declared one of the fans present, who also indicated that the parking lot functioned as another place where spectators went when they heard the shots.
"Police have cordoned off the location and there is an increased police presence in the surrounding area, including the Firearms Response Unit," reports a press release made by local police.
The Cayman Islands are a dependent territory of the United Kingdom, located northwest of Jamaica, surrounded by the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
An approximate population of 55 thousand people resides there.
And because the risk of crime is not high, many of the witnesses were surprised and shocked by the shooting.
"
This is not what Cayman is about
," one of them said, while another agreed that "it's sad that this is happening in Cayman and for it to happen at a soccer game with families watching is even more worrying."
