For three years, Ilias Akoudad denied even his presence at the scene of the murder of Éric Masson, killed at a deal point in the city center of Avignon, on May 5, 2021. This Monday, while his trial continues continues, the 22-year-old accused finally confessed to having shot the young brigadier, while he was controlling a cannabis user near a drug dealer, rue du Râteau.
However, the accused denies having any knowledge of Éric Masson's role as a police officer at the time of the events.
“I didn’t know it was a police officer, I was thinking of a transaction
,” he maintained, during this dramatic turn of events at the hearing.
