Taxes are said to have been evaded on a large scale in Kytaro at the beginning of the 1900s.
Innkeeper Leonidas Arachovitis has not yet said anything about the allegations.
The Kytaro is a big name in the Munich gastronomic landscape - the restaurant is known for legendary parties.
Since February 1st that has been history, at least temporarily.

On the website of Munich-based Kytaro it mysteriously says that the year is off to an “exciting start for new projects”.
Meanwhile, things are also exciting in court: Kytaro host Leonidas Arachovitis (63) has to answer there.
He is said to have evaded taxes.
The tax office accuses him of embezzling around two and a half million euros in sales tax, corporation tax and trade tax.
The trial began yesterday in the regional court.
The prosecution focuses on the period from 2010 to 2014 and accuses Arachovitis, among other things, of not reporting all sales or all operating expenses.
His lawyer counters.
“The tax office has so far only provided an estimate with the figures presented,” says Maximilian Krämer, the innkeeper’s defense attorney.
“The case originated in the proceedings against a convicted wholesaler from whom many restaurateurs made illegal purchases.
It has not yet been proven that our client did this.
We also do not have a large part of the investigation results.
Only when we have gained insight into this can we assess to what extent the estimated tax evasion is actually criminally relevant.” The hearing was interrupted right at the beginning due to the defense's lack of information; it continues on Thursday.
Krämer: “In such cases, the claim is usually reduced by 50 percent.
That is the goal here too.”
